Austrian bronze and ivory figure by Joseph Lorenzl
circa 1930.
depicting Eve holding out an ivory apple
the bronze cold-painted matt gold
and enamelled in pale red/brown, silver and pink,
mounted on a stepped black and green onyx base-
11.5in/28cm high
bronze marked Lorenzl,
chipping to the base. 

This is a very rare Lorenzl bronze and ivory;
I have never seen another example.

Joseph Lorenzl is one of the most well known of the sculptors from this period.
His art deco sculptures express the newly found freedom of the between the wars period.
